Guest Experience & Quality Consulting

Your Hotel.
Through the Eyes
of Your Guests.

We experience your property as a mystery guest, put our observations into context and show you, in prioritised recommendations, where you can improve your guest experience.

Who it’s for

For hotels that want to know how their property comes across to guests.

We work with hoteliers, general managers and owners of upscale hotels in Germany, Austria and Italy. We look at your property through a guest’s eyes – independently and from the outside.

Typical questions

  • You want to know how your hotel feels from a guest’s perspective – from the first contact until after departure.
  • You want to check whether service and communication are consistent across all departments.
  • You are looking for an independent view of strengths and friction points that are easily overlooked in day-to-day operations.
  • You want to know where to start – with recommendations that work in everyday hotel life.
Services

Three building blocks that build on each other.

The mystery guest audit provides the observations. The quality analysis puts them into context. The recommendations turn them into concrete next steps. The type and scope of our work together are agreed with you individually.

01 Observe

Mystery Guest Audit

We experience your property through your guests’ eyes – discreetly, systematically and along the agreed stay. We document what we notice in a way you can follow.

  • Anonymous and incognito, like a regular guest
  • Structured, anonymised documentation

02 Interpret

Quality Analysis

We put our observations into context, surface strengths and friction points, and bring the details together into a clear overall picture. We pay particular attention to:

  • Consistency of service
  • Clarity of communication
  • Atmosphere and transitions between departments

03 Prioritise

Prioritised Recommendations

From the analysis we derive recommendations that can be discussed and put into practice in daily operations – ordered by what should be tackled first.

  • Short-term improvements
  • Further priorities for action
  • On request: support with implementation and a second audit

The areas we look at

We follow your guests’ journey. Which stages are reviewed in detail is tailored to your property and to what we agree.

  1. 01

    Booking and communication

Contact before arrival: enquiry, reservation and information.

  2. 02

    Arrival and reception

The first impression on site and the check-in process.

  3. 03

    Room and housekeeping

Condition, cleanliness and details in the room during the stay.

  4. 04

    Dining and other services

Restaurant, breakfast and other services your property offers.

  5. 05

    Departure and follow-up

The last impression at check-out and the contact afterwards.

Not an official inspection or certification. An audit is a snapshot of the stay as experienced.

Process

How we work together.

  1. Introductory call and goals

You tell us about your property, your guests and what you would like to find out. Together we clarify your questions and the areas that matter most to you.

    Your part
Insight into your property and your goals
    Outcome
A shared understanding of the brief
  2. Agreeing the scope

We define which stages of the stay will be reviewed and where the focus lies. You receive the scope and price in a personal offer before you place the order.

    Your part
The necessary information and a contact person at your property
    Outcome
    A clearly agreed scope
  3. The stay from a guest’s perspective

We book the room ourselves and arrive anonymously and incognito – so the booking process is part of the assessment and the stay is as normal as possible. Depending on the agreed services and areas, it usually lasts one to three nights. We document our observations in a structured, anonymised way.

    Your part
    Your team works as usual
    Outcome
    Documented observations along the stay
  4. Analysis and recommendations

We put the observations into context, identify strengths and opportunities for improvement, and derive prioritised recommendations. Everything is set out in a written report – in English by default, in another language on request.

    Your part
Additional information on your processes, if needed
    Outcome
A written report as a PDF
  5. Results meeting and priorities

We discuss the report with you in person and agree the order of the next steps. The decision on implementation remains yours.

    Your part
Your view on what is feasible in daily operations
    Outcome
Clear priorities for the next steps
  6. On request

    Implementation support and second audit

We support you on the way from audit to implementation. A second audit then shows whether the changes are reaching your guests.

    Your part
Implementation in your operation – the decisions are yours
    Outcome
A comparison of what has changed since the first audit
Results

What you receive.

Not a general verdict, but a clear picture of your property from a guest’s perspective – with concrete pointers on where to start.

A written report as a PDF

All results in one document – in English by default, in another language on request.

A clear summary

The key findings at a glance, concise and easy to follow.

Documented observations

What we experienced during the stay, recorded in a way you can follow.

Strengths and opportunities

What already works well and should be kept – and where guests experience friction.

Prioritised recommendations

Concrete measures in a clear order: what to tackle first.

A personal discussion

We go through the results with you, answer your questions and set priorities together.

Short-term improvements

Quick to implement

Individual points that can be adjusted with manageable effort during ongoing operations – such as information guests currently only receive when they ask.

Further priorities for action

Worth addressing in depth

Topics that affect several areas or processes and need more time – such as how information is passed between departments.

Fictional example

What a recommendation can look like

The following example is entirely made up and for illustration only. It does not describe a client case.

Observation
Breakfast times and Wi-Fi access are not mentioned at check-in. The guest only receives this information after asking at reception.
What it means for the guest
The guest has to ask. As a result, the first impression feels less attentive than the service actually is.
Possible measure
Short term: build the key information into the check-in routine.
Further: review which information guests receive before and on arrival, and who passes it on.

We do not promise any specific increase in revenue or ratings. The recommendations are meant to give you a sound basis for your own decisions.

FAQ

Good to know.

We are happy to answer any further questions personally in the introductory call.

What does our hotel need to prepare?

For the introductory call, an overview of your property and what you would like to find out is enough. For the audit itself, we need the agreed information and a contact person. Anything beyond that depends on the agreed scope.

How long is the stay?

Depending on the services and areas you choose, one to three nights are usually needed.

Are all areas always reviewed?

No. Which stages of the stay are reviewed is tailored to your property and your questions, and set out in the offer.

Will our team know about the stay?

Not by default. The stay is anonymous and incognito, so that everything runs as normally as possible.

Who books the room?

We always book the room ourselves, directly. This lets us assess the booking process as well and ensures the stay genuinely remains anonymous.

Are individual employees assessed?

No. Individual employees are not specifically observed, and no audio, photo or video recordings of employees are made. Documentation is generally anonymised and serves to assess service quality and processes – not to create employee profiles.

How meaningful is a single stay?

An audit is a snapshot: it shows what was experienced during the stay. It does not automatically follow that observations apply permanently or in every comparable situation. That is exactly why we put observations into context and mark subjective impressions as such.

In what form and language do we receive the results?

You receive a written report as a PDF and a personal discussion of the results. The report is written in English by default, and in another language on request.

Do you also support implementation?

Yes. We support you on the way from audit to implementation. We also offer a second audit to check whether the changes are reaching your guests.

Is this a certification?

No. This is independent consulting, not an official inspection or certification. Whether and how you implement recommendations is your decision.

How is our information handled?

We treat your property’s non-public information as confidential – for example internal processes, key figures or quality issues. If required, a separate confidentiality agreement can also be concluded for a project.

What does an audit cost?

You receive the price in a separate, personal offer before you place the order. It depends on the services and areas you choose; all prices are net plus VAT. A flat rate for travel and accommodation costs can be agreed and is also stated in the offer.

Details are set out in our Terms & Conditions.
